Organization Development: Leading Change

Presented by: Paul Barber

Organization Development is all about helping an organization become better aligned to achieve its goals through planned change. Change Management is one of the ten competencies in ATD’s competency model. Talent Development professionals use a variety of tools and techniques that impact individuals, teams and organizations as a dynamic system. Using case study examples and practical activities this workshop will focus primarily on change at the organizational level.

Following this session participants will be better able to:

  • Appreciate the business drivers and benefits of planned change – alignment
  • Recognize four proven change models (Weisbord, Lewin, Bridges, Kotter)
  • Use a framework with management to determine the level of change
  • Conduct surveys or use diagnostic instruments as required (overview)
  • Select appropriate tools or interventions based on needs and desired outcomes
  • Facilitate strategic planning enabling leaders to communicate the change
  • Support integration of the change into the culture

ATD Change Management Competency: Apply a systematic process to shift individuals, teams, and organizations from current state to desired state.
